As a teacher and performer, I consider it my duty to help cultivate a thriving local dance community; by bringing people together, by drawing fresh talent and creativity into the area, by encouraging performance - and appreciation thereof, providing learning opportunities for dancers and having a whole heap of fun in the process. In August 2013, I hosted my first hafla in Glastonbury. The wonderful Gwen Booth taught a workshop all morning, then, in the afternoon we had a fabulous show, featuring performers from near and far, both professional and student dancers. Penny from Everything Egyptian provided a wonderful bazaar, along with local traders and our own tarot reader! |
